Caring for your EPIC™ Universal Musician Monitors
EPIC™ Universal Musicians' Monitors are quality, precision devices. Although they are designed for rugged daily service, abusive handling can cause harm and diminish the sound quality. Avoid dropping, especially on hard surfaces, and rough handling or excessive heat (such as the dashboard of a parked car). Do not put EPIC™ Universal Musicians' Monitors in water. Never attempt to disassemble the headphones - it will void your warranty.
Change the tips when they become dirty or if they collect excessive wax from your ear canal. Fresh wax can often be removed with a tissue dampened with a few drops of SafeTouch™ Earmold Cleaner (an optional accessory available from 'the shop' or by phone.) Dry wax may be removed with the brush tool. We recommend wiping the tips after each use.
Sometimes wax can collect in the nozzle of the headphone. If this happens, use the loop on the end of the brush tool to loosen and remove it. DO NOT use anything else but this loop to clean the nozzle.
There is a green damper element in each nozzle, which helps provide the outstanding sound of the EPIC™ Musicians' Monitors. Periodically these can plug with wax or moisture and will need to be renewed. We have supplied a cylindrical tool for this purpose. It contains a tiny tip for grasping the damper (the end with the long cap) as well as several replacement dampers (the end with the short cap).
How to change a damper
- Remove the tip from the headphone.
- Insert the tool into the barrel of the damper and turn gently to the right. This will engage the damper.
- Pull the old damper straight out.
- Remove the old damper from the tool. Carefully load a new damper onto the tool and press it straight into the nozzle. Do not press hard... the damper will automatically stop at the correct location.
- Turn the tool to the left and withdraw it from the nozzle.
Always return your EPIC™ Musicians' Monitors to their case when you are not using them.
